NCC Battalions carried out cleanliness drive

Lucknow. Under the Puneet Sagar Abhiyan, the cadets of 19 UP Girls Battalion NCC Lucknow cleaned the Shanti Vatika on the banks of the Gomti river in Lucknow today.


This cleanliness drive was carried out under the leadership of Colonel Dinesh Kannojia, Commanding Officer of 19 UP Girls Battalion NCC Lucknow. Under this campaign 140 girl cadets participated in the cleanliness drive.


The cadets collected plastic bottles and other waste materials flowing in the Gomti river. They removed overgrown weeds on the banks and cleaned the river. Cadets also spread awareness amongst local tourists of Shanti Vatika of the need to not throw anything in the river and to keep cleanliness.


Volunteers of NGO, Sahas Zero Waste also participated in this drive and took the waste material removed from the river for recycling. Subedar Major Tajbar Singh, ANO Capt Richa Mishra and Senior GCI Vinita Srivastava and BHM Bishwajit Sarkar were also present during this cleanliness drive. On the other hand, under the 'Clean India Green India' campaign, a cleanliness campaign was conducted in Gomti River Front under the direction of 20 UP Girls Battalion NCC Lucknow, which included AP Sen PG College, Mahila Vidyalaya PG College, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Degree College and KMCL University. About 90 NCC cadets of the NCC participated enthusiastically. As part of this campaign, the cadets collected garbage, plastic bottles, plastic bottles and other waste materials spread in the area around Gomti river and also performed street plays as part of public awareness.


On this occasion, Commanding Officer of 20 UP Girls Battalion NCC Col Vinod Joshi, Administrative Officer Major Praveen, Subedar Major Bahadur Rana, BHM Yashpal and Senior GCI Nandita were present. SHANTANU/DWARIKA/38/2022
